Take a 90-minute paddle around one of the islands that comprise Curry Hammock State Park. This ranger-led tour will give you an appreciation for the fragility of the nearshore ecosystem. You will see some of the damage man has caused and learn of the ongoing effort to preserve this valuable resource.
Tours are limited to six kayaks. Visitors should bring their own or rent from the park.
Registration is recommended.

There are no fees required to attend camper coffee, however donations to help cover the cost of refreshments and supplies are greatly appreciated. Any proceeds will go directly to the Friends of Myakka River to help protect, preserve and support Myakka River State Park.

This is a great time to come and visit with your fellow campers, meet our fantastic volunteers and rangers, and find out about all the great things that Myakka River State Park has to offer. See if you can stump the staff with a question about the park! We serve fresh, hot coffee, tea and treats provided by the Friends of Myakka River. Bring your mug and join in the camaraderie around the fire!
Camper Coffee is generally hosted at the rustic Log Pavilion located just north of the Ranger Station along the park drive.
We will be relocating camper coffee to the fire circle at Big Flats Campground while the Log Pavilion is closed for repairs for the following dates: 1/24/18, 1/31/18, 2/7/18, & 2/14/18.
Big Flats Campground is located three miles north of the Ranger Station near the lake area.
Guided Paddle (Or Walk) @ Oscar Scherer State ParkWednesday, February 14, 2018 - 9:00am to 10:30am EST

Rentals are $10.70 / hour; $42.80 / day

Paddle along South Creek and learn about the park and the estuarine critters. Please register between 8:00am and 8:45am at the Ranger Station. May bring own vessel or rent one from the Ranger Station. Some paddling experience recommended as it is a group tour.
Note: South Creek is a tidal water, therefore if water is too shallow for a paddle, a walk will be offered instead.
9th Annual Valentines Day Vow Renewal @ Lovers Key State ParkWednesday, February 14, 2018 - 10:00am to 6:00pm EST
A $100 per couple, non-refundable donation to the Friends of Lovers Key, Inc. (FOLKS). Each couple's registration fee adds to our Environmental Education Center Fund.

Love is always in the air at Lovers Key, but even more so on Valentine’s Day. Couples are invited to join us in the park for our special 9th Annual Vow Renewal Ceremony at the gazebo on the beach.
Due to the growing popularity of this event, this year we are offering three ceremonies: 10:00 A.M., 1:00 P.M., or 4:00 P.M. Each ceremony will include a Champagne Toast, full meal catered by Truly Scrumptious, coffee, cake and desserts, dancing, socializing, photo, as well as a special gift and door prizes.
Each ceremony is limited to 40 couples, so pre-register early to ensure your preferred choice of time. All ceremonies are expected to sell out. Pre-registration for this event is required.

$3 per vehicle State Park entrance fee
Meet at the picnic pavilion next door to the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse. Join a Park Ranger to learn about the park’s coastal plants, animals, and a little local history too. The walk is approximately one-third mile and lasts about one hour. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, sunscreen and drinking water are recommended. All programs are weather dependent.

Guided Tours of Historic Koreshan Settlement @ Koreshan State ParkWednesday, February 14, 2018 - 2:00pm EST

Join us for a Guided Walking Tour of the Historic Koreshan Settlement. Explore structures and gardens of the 19th century utopian settlement and learn about these idealistic pioneers. The walking tour is about an hour and a half and is accessible to all.
Park admission is $2 for bicycle/pedestrian, $4 for one person in a vehicle, $5 for up to 8 persons in a vehicle. Walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour and is mostly outdoors on a crushed shell path. Please bring water, proper footware, and sun protection. Wheelchair available upon request.
Requests for these and other tours for clubs, home school associations, and other groups can be made by calling the Ranger Station at (239) 992-0311. We make every effort to accommodate all groups, however we may not be able to fulfill requests made with less than a two week notice.

Some of our Florida tales contain historical fiction, and some are merely legend, but all are great fun! Join us for an hour of entertainment sure to amuse and enlighten people of all ages. Our volunteers and staff will be on hand to share their favorite Cracker folklore and Florida history tidbits, vital to understanding The Real Florida! Refreshments and snacks are provided by the Friends of Myakka River and donations are greatly appreciated.
