Join a Ranger for a one-hour guided walk along our moderately difficult, 1.5-mile hiking trail. Come out and enjoy a leisurely stroll through our rockland hammock and take in the flora and fauna of the Florida Keys. Along the way, you will gain an appreciation for the difficulties plants and animals face in the sub-tropical ecosystem.

Additional Information:

Bug spray, drinking water and closed-toed shoes or hiking boots are recommended.

The narrow trail limits the walk to twelve people, therefore reservations are recommended.

NATURALIST led Fakahatchee Tram Tour with Swamp Walk.  "This offering combines elements of our longer tram tours and swamp walks to give participants a great introduction to the Fakahatchee," says volunteer naturalist Patrick Higgins.

Each Tram Tour and Swamp Walk begins with a ride on the group's Ghost Rider tram to the site of the swamp walk. After about 90 minutes of walking through the swamp, participants board the tram for the return trip.

Naturalists leading the group will share their insights about the Fakahatchee's flora and fauna on both wet and dry portions of the adventure. Fakahatchee Strand is home to the famous ghost orchid and many other rare plants and animals.

The Tram Tour with Swamp Walk is $60 per person. The tours begin promptly at 9:30 am and conclude by 1 pm.

Participants will be required to sign a standard release of liability form. Any cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to receive refund.

Participants should be sure to wear sturdy lace-up shoes( no sandals) and long pants and can change to dry clothes at the visitors restrooms for their drive home. This is an outdoor event, so dress appropriately for the weather.

The Tram Tour and Swamp Walk begins at the ranger station off Jane's Scenic Drive.  Janes Scenic Drive is accessible ONLY via SR 29 (between HI 75 and US 41) DO NOT rely on incorrect GPS direction providing a different route to Jane Scenic drive in Copeland FL.

Join a park naturalist in the Art Hall of the Koreshan State Park for a talk on manatees and dolphins. These creatures that are fun to watch and are extremely interesting! The discussion will touch on behaviors, anatomy, fun facts, and the differences between the two species. Pictures of manatees and dolphins will be shared, as well as advice regarding human interaction and viewing locations will be suggested. There will be time after the talk for questions and clarification.

FROGRS Guided Kayak Tour @ Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach

The cost of the tour is $35 per person and includes the rental of a single kayak, tandem kayak or canoe. It will be $10 if you bring your own kayak. You can pay with a credit card online through PayPal here, or make payment of cash or check at the ranger station. The proceeds benefit the Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park (FROGRS), our community service organization. Entrance fee into the park is not included.

Register now for our two-hour guided kayak tour exploring the salt marsh. Learn about the importance of this dynamic ecosystem while paddling peacefully in one of the park’s kayaks. All levels of experience are welcome. Participant's will receive a brief demonstration on: safety, gear requirements and basic kayaking techniques. Bring bug repellent, water and dress appropriately for the weather. Kids in double kayaks must be at least 12 years old. Kids in single kayaks must be at least 16 years old.

Registration is limited to the first 12 people and payment is needed to secure your reservation.
