Join us every Thursday in February and March at Fort Cooper State Park to enjoy the birding that this park has to offer. Led by a park volunteer, this weekly fun and informative walk is open to participants of all birding levels. Participants will observe a diverse variety of birds by walking the beach, nature trails and other areas. Participants should meet down by Lake Holathlikaha and are encouraged to bring their own binoculars and bird guides!

Join us for a Guided Walking Tour of the Historic Koreshan Settlement. Explore structures and gardens of the 19th century utopian settlement and learn about these idealistic pioneers. The walking tour is about an hour and a half and is accessible to all.

Additional Information:

Park admission is $2 for bicycle/pedestrian, $4 for one person in a vehicle, $5 for up to 8 persons in a vehicle. Walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour and is mostly outdoors on a crushed shell path. Please bring water, proper footware, and sun protection. Wheelchair available upon request.

Requests for these and other tours for clubs, home school associations, and other groups can be made by calling the Ranger Station at (239) 992-0311. We make every effort to accommodate all groups, however we may not be able to fulfill requests made with less than a two week notice.

The history of the Koreshan Settlement comes to life as historical interpreters in period costumes portray its founding 100 years ago. Enjoy a nighttime ghost walk in an atmosphere of moonlight and candlelit pathways. As you walk past and view old historic buildings, you will experience Koreshans telling their own story. Learn the before, during and after story of the Koreshan Settlement and enjoy treats made from Koreshan recipes at the restored Bakery.
