Shari Blissett-Clark, board member of the Florida Bat Conservancy will present her program entitled Bats – Myth and Realty on Thursday, October 26, 2017, starting at 12:00 pm in the Magnolia Room of the wildlife park’s Visitor Center located on US 19. She describes her program as follows: “This program uses high-resolution photography and research to debunk the folklore, myths, and misconceptions that have plagued bats for centuries. Unfounded fears, often fueled by grossly over-stated disease risk and ignorance, are the major contributors to a dramatic decline in the world-wide bat populations. The program discusses bat facts, species diversity, environmental and economic benefits of bats.” The program is approximately 50 minutes long and is followed by a question and answer period. Live bats will be displayed after the presentation.

Friends of Eden Gardens State Park invite you and your family for movie nights under the stars. The Fourth Annual Eden Vintage Film Series kicks off on October 12 with ‘E.T'.

Films will be shown outside near the pavilion.  Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers, bug spray, and loved ones and enjoy the movies under the stars on the giant blow-up screen. Refreshments such as popcorn, drinks, water and candy are available for donations. As always, costumes are encouraged for each film.

Come meet the spirits! Bid welcome to those from a bygone era who haunt the lands of Coconut Grove. Watch as they dance their stories beneath the moonlit sky and try to escape their tragic endings night after magical night. Creator and founder, Crystal Karaginis Peattie, has produced this show for everyone to enjoy in her backyard of Coconut Grove. An open walk-through concept, various dances have been choreographed by a group of Miami’s most talented artists and performed across the five-acre property. The dancers will be fictional characters based on the history of Coconut Grove, specifically from the late 1800s and early 1900s. A haunting feast for the eyes, ears, and soul, this show is not to be missed.

Two performances per night on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday beginning at 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. One performance on Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
