Welcome to "Dirty Fridays" at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park! Here is a wonderful, low-key volunteer opportunity to get a little dirty on the First Friday of every month while helping to beautify the park grounds! Projects include working in the butterfly garden, driveway medians and other fun landscape features that make Topsail one of a kind! Bring some water, gloves, insect repellent and a lunch to enjoy afterwards! Garden groups are always welcome to share in the fun!
First Friday Garden Walks @ Washington Oaks Gardens State ParkFriday, October 6, 2017 - 10:00am to 11:00am EDT

Join us for a Ranger guided tour of our Historic District and Gardens the first Friday of each month. Learn about the history of Washington Oaks, while taking in the beauty of the Gardens. Participants meet in the Garden parking lot. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring water.
Junior Ranger Program @ Paynes Prairie Preserve State ParkFriday, October 6, 2017 - 10:00am to 3:00pm EDT

Come visit our Junior Ranger table from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Learn how to become a Junior Ranger and join us for lots of cool nature activities! Children can complete the Junior Ranger CORE activities, collect passport stamps, and earn an official Junior Ranger badge, patch, or pin! Junior Ranger activities are appropriate for children aged 6 and up, but we will also have critter coloring pages and smokey bear stories available for all ages.
No reservation required. Meet us inside the visitor center located within the main park entrance, off US 441 in Micanopy.
Explore the Shore @ Long Key State ParkFriday, October 6, 2017 - 1:00pm EDT
Free with paid park admission.
Visitors will enjoy a Ranger guided walk on the shoreline exploring what the tide has brought in. We might discover things washed ashore from all over the world such as seabeans, animal skulls, shells, jellyfish, crabs, and plants and flowers! Please bring water to drink, wear shoes that can get wet, and wear sunscreen and a hat. Additionally, you may wish to bring sunglasses, bug spray, cameras and binoculars. We leave from the Day Use Ocean Overlook at 1:00 P.M.
To participate in this program you must be able to walk over uneven/soft surfaces, or ask at the ranger station to borrow our beach friendly wheelchair.
Sunset Paddle Tour @ Oleta River State ParkFriday, October 6, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm EDT
The Tour is 2 hours long and $35.00 per Adult or $25.00 per College Student.
Have you ever gone Kayaking at night? Sunset Kayak/SUP Tours are available every Friday evening at the BG Oleta River Outdoor Center. We paddle for 1 hour before arriving at Sandspur Island where we will take a break and watch the sun go down. Once the sun has set, your Guide will turn on bright colorful lights located on the front and back of your Kayak or SUP before a 30 minute paddle back to the Outdoor Center.
Eco Fitness Classes @ Oleta River State ParkSaturday, October 7, 2017 (All day)
"By combining health-fitness with outdoor recreation, Eco Fitness appeals to those seeking to increase time spent exercising and connecting with nature. Through a strategically formulated exercise regimen, participants will see adaptation to their physical abilities as well as an increase in their love for the great outdoors.
Eco Fitness Classes incorporate Kayaking/Stand Up Paddleboarding, Mountain Biking, Swimming and Plyometrics over the course of 2 hours for the low price of $40.00 per class.
Classes are held the first 2 weeks of the month; Wednesday evenings, Friday and Saturday mornings."
