Learning about and purchasing native plants can be a daunting task, but it just got easier! The Coccoloba Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society volunteers will be selling native plants at the Koreshan State Historic Site Farmers Market Sundays, 8:00am - 1 pm. Experts will be on hand to help answer your questions and teach you about the wonderful benefits of adding native plants to your landscaping. Guided Scrub Walk @ Oscar Scherer State ParkSunday, September 3, 2017 - 8:30am EDT

This weekly walk begins at the Nature Center and includes an informative walk through an ancient dune system. This unique habitat is home to the threatened Florida scrub-jay and a variety of plants and other animals. Participants should wear comfortable footwear for walking in soft sand. Cameras and binoculars are suggested. Space is limited to 15 people.

This program will allow visitors to interact with living historians to experience life in the fort as it was in 1864. The grounds will be bustling with soldiers in period costumes involved in firing demonstrations, marching drills, cooking and daily activities. Ladies in their dresses, sutlers displaying their wares, fife players and drummer boys bring every part of the civil war era to life. Come join in this unique, family friendly event.

Come out to the Millhopper for a self-guided hike along Sink Trail. In celebration of Literacy Month we have created a "Reading Trail" with six stops - each revealing a piece of the Legend of Devil's Millhopper.

Join us for a Guided Walking Tour of the Historic Koreshan Settlement. Explore structures and gardens of the 19th century utopian settlement and learn about these idealistic pioneers. The walking tour is about an hour and a half and is accessible to all.
Park admission is $2 for bicycle/pedestrian, $4 for one person in a vehicle, $5 for up to 8 persons in a vehicle. Walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour and is mostly outdoors on a crushed shell path. Please bring water, proper footware, and sun protection. Wheelchair available upon request.
Requests for these and other tours for clubs, home school associations, and other groups can be made by calling the Ranger Station at (239) 992-0311. We make every effort to accommodate all groups, however we may not be able to fulfill requests made with less than a two week notice.

While the kids are out of school for the long weekend, come out to the park for a family-friendly film on the front lawn. Modest pajamas, flashlights, picnics and low lawn chairs are encouraged. All ages will enjoy the 2016 animated feature The Secret Life of Pets—the story of a favorite pet named Max (Louis C.K.) whose life is turned upside down when his owner takes in Duke (Eric Stonestreet), a sloppy mongrel whom Max instantly dislikes.
Purchase tickets at the gate. Sales begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m.
Film length: 1 hour 27 minutes.
