The shorter hammock hike is approximately .66 miles long. This trail will encompass plenty of shade with lots of oaks and other native trees including a native sub-tropic understory. At the edges of the trail you will find majestic views of the dry prairie ecosystem. The longer prairie hike will be just under 2 miles in length and will walk through a vast landscape of saw palmetto, grasses and native wildflowers. There is always the possibility to see wildlife on either hike such as, deer, raccoons, marsh rabbits, snakes and maybe even a Bobcat if you're lucky! Portions of the trail may be wet so wear footwear that you are willing to soil.
