Join us on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 8:30 - 11:30 AM. starting August 13, 2016 for the rest of the year. This clean up will be in conjunction with the Friends of Cape Florida Inc. Our Beach clean up will be a chance to give back to our beaches that we enjoy all summer. after cleaning, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

Guided Hike and Bike @ Oscar Scherer State ParkFriday, December 16, 2016 - 9:00am to 12:00pm EST
There is no cost to participate in either portion other than normal park entrance fees for day-use visitors
($2 for pedestrians/bicyclists entering the park from the Legacy Trail; cost for vehicles varies based on occupancy.)

This two-part program is conducted by a Ranger or Volunteer.
Hike time: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Bike time: 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The guide will take you on an informative walk along one of the six trails in the park. If you’re interested in taking your journey a step further, stay for the second portion of the program which includes a leisurely bike ride along the Green Trail and a portion of the Legacy Trail. The bike ride is about 12 miles round-trip. Participants must provide their own bikes; road and trail bikes are ok. Children under 16 years of age must wear a helmet while bicycling. Both portions of the program begin at the Nature Center. Remember to bring plenty of drinking water.

Experience St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park by way of kayak. This is a unique opportunity to visit one of Florida's magnificent barrier islands. You will paddle through mangrove lined creeks and visit a pristine, undeveloped beach. Your guide will point out various plant and animal species, including some that are rare or endangered, as well as providing insight into the management activities used at the park. Visitors of all ages and skill levels are welcome. The tour is approximately 3 hours long.

What to bring: drinking water, snacks, sunscreen and bug repellent. No pets or alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Join us at the Killdeer pavilion where Volunteer Debbie will show you how to make your own snowmen holiday ornaments. Bring a small hand towel if you have one. Participants 13 years of age and older are welcome to join. The class is limited to 15 participants. You can register for this program at Eventbrite.

This family-friendly winter program is sure to entertain. Each week features a different theme. Campers can vote for the movie of their choice at the Nature Center, where the movie viewing will take place. Refreshments are provided and campers are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages and favorite movie theater snacks.

Fall Evening Moon Over the Mounds Guided Tour @ Crystal River Archaeological State ParkFriday, December 16, 2016 - 8:00pm to 10:00pm EST

Enjoy a fine fall evening walk at the Crystal River Archeological State Park with our popular monthly moonlit guided hike. This event is a torch lit tour of the site led by professional interpretive guides though the pre-Columbian ceremonial complex. The Crystal River Archaeological site, a National Historic Landmark, is a world-famous center on Florida’s west coast.
Travel back in time to experience the park under the full moon to catch a glimpse of what life was like living on the Crystal River from 1000 BC to AD 1000.
Reservations are not required, but recommended for larger groups.
