Dutch Oven cooking demonstrations over fire by our local Dutch Oven volunteer experts. Participants will get to sample several dishes cooked over fire during the class.

This two-part program is conducted by a Ranger or Volunteer.
Hike time: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Bike time: 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The guide will take you on an informative walk along one of the six trails in the park. If you’re interested in taking your journey a step further, stay for the second portion of the program which includes a leisurely bike ride along the Green Trail and a portion of the Legacy Trail. The bike ride is about 12 miles round-trip. Participants must provide their own bikes; road and trail bikes are ok. Children under 16 years of age must wear a helmet while bicycling. Both portions of the program begin at the Nature Center. Remember to bring plenty of drinking water.

The Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park are proud to present, Winter Waterland 2016. This popular annual Christmas event will be held December 9-10 & 16-17, 2016. The event is from 6 PM-10 PM each night. Admission is only $6 for adults, and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Kids five and under are FREE. Park passes are not accepted for this special event. Advanced tickets will go on-sale beginning December 3. They can only be purchased at the gate during business hours.
The event will include holiday themed shows from the World-Famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids. In addition, the event will include holiday lights, other holiday themed performances, a live nativity scene, petting zoo (extra fee), and of course, a photo opportunity with Santa Claus and his mermaid-elf helpers. A great inexpensive way to enjoy the holiday season with the family.

Fort Cooper's annual Nights of Lights has become a long tradition to the thousands who attend each year. Hosted by the Friends of Fort Cooper. Who spend weeks setting up for the three day event. It provides the perfect setting to get you and your family in the holiday spirit. Hot chocolate, Hot apple cider and S'mores.
Enjoy thousands of lights, animated features and music. As you walk through the park. Sipping cider and stopping by the fire to melt a s'more. Santa Claus will be sitting by the fire place all three nights!

Fort Foster Historic Site brings the holiday season on the Florida Frontier to life! Visitors follow a lantern-lit trail through the military fort and Seminole camp. Along the way, guests will encounter musicians, living history scenarios, and refreshments.
A battle reenactment on Friday, December 9th, and Saturday, December 10th, will take place after 8:00 pm. Come witness the drama as the Seminoles attempt to burn the bridge crossing the Hillsborough River, while soldiers and militiamen will try to defend it. This living history program will truly take you back in time.
The Fort Foster State Historic Site is located adjacent to Hillsborough River State Park on U.S. 301 North, 9 miles north of Fowler Avenue and 6 miles south of Zephyrhills.

This family-friendly winter program is sure to entertain. Each week features a different theme. Campers can vote for the movie of their choice at the Nature Center, where the movie viewing will take place. Refreshments are provided and campers are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages and favorite movie theater snacks.

Regular park entry fees apply for non-hunters.
Permitted hunters are exempt from park admission on the days of the hunt and the preview day before the hunt. Hunter access at other times requires normal park admission.
During this weekend of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission's Rock Spring Wildlife Management Area Small Game Hunt, the park is open for normal activities. However, to protect our visitors, some trails will be closed. All hunting areas and trail closures will be clearly posted.
