As you roam down the short trail to the Cow Camp, you will travel back in time to 1876. At the end of the trail, you will find a Florida Cow Hunter in a frontier camp along the route of a cattle drive. He will be cooking, making coffee, tending to the cattle or just resting up until the next roundup or cattle drive. The Cow Hunter will be very happy to share stories about what his life is like and the challenges he faces.
Offsite Cow Camps are available for groups of 15 or more, schools, community organizations, special events, etc. Call the Ranger Station for more information.

This program will allow visitors to interact with living historians to experience life in the fort as it was in 1864. The grounds will be bustling with soldiers in period costumes involved in firing demonstrations, marching drills, cooking and daily activities. Ladies in their dresses, sutlers displaying their wares, fife players and drummer boys bring every part of the civil war era to life. Come join in this unique, family friendly event.

This weekly program is offered during bald eagle nesting season. Two nests are located in the park but the easiest to access is on the Green Trail. Once nest construction has begun, part of the trails are roped off per federal law. To view the eagles from a safe distance, a Volunteer will be manning a viewing station. A high-powered spotting scope to view the nest will be provided. The 20-minute walk to the eagle viewing station on the Green Trail from the Nature Center or campground is self-guided and trail maps can be obtained at the Ranger Station and Nature Center.

Enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers hot off the grill for $1.25 and a ceremony at 1:25 p.m. Built in 1891, The Barnacle is the oldest house in Miami-Dade County still standing in its original location.

Enjoy a members-only outdoor screening of the 1961 classic musical film West Side Story starring Natalie Wood and George Chakiris. The Barnacle Society offers Starlight Movie Classics as a thank you to its members for their help in supporting preservation of the oldest house in Miami-Dade County still standing in its original location.
Gate opens at 6:00 p.m. and closes at 7:15 p.m.

Picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs are welcome. No pets, please.
Non-members can join at the gate or in advance at the park's gift shop or online.
On-street and off-street paid parking (link is external) is available throughout Coconut Grove. Visitors with a Disabled Person Parking Permit may call the Ranger Station for additional parking information.
