The Azalea 12/24-Hour Race and 50-Mile Race will take place in the beautiful Ravine Gardens State Park located in the heart of Palatka, Florida. You will run on a smooth asphalt 2-mile loop (USA Track and Field-Certified) that includes difficult inclines and declines that will challenge both your physical fitness and mental fortitude. Runners will start at the highest point then wind their way to the bottom of the ravine. Along the route you will pass various historical landmarks, including the outdoor amphitheater, Court of States, and other original structures dating back to the 1930's.
12- and 24-Hour options are available. The 50-mile race will have a 15-hour cut-off. An Aid Station will be fully stocked with a wide variety of foods, gels and electrolyte drinks.

As you roam down the short trail to the Cow Camp, you will travel back in time to 1876. At the end of the trail, you will find a Florida Cow Hunter in a frontier camp along the route of a cattle drive. He will be cooking, making coffee, tending to the cattle or just resting up until the next roundup or cattle drive. The Cow Hunter will be very happy to share stories about what his life is like and the challenges he faces.
Offsite Cow Camps are available for groups of 15 or more, schools, community organizations, special events, etc. Call the Ranger Station for more information.

Bird lovers can join a Ranger-led educational walk identifying many species of birds that make their home in John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. Reservations recommended. The walk is approximately one mile. Bring water, hat and sunscreen.

On Sunday, November 13th, 2016, come and join us at St. George Island State Park for a beginner's guide to kayaking. Staff and volunteers will be holding a Kayak 101 program to learn basic paddling skills, learn about the park and will discover a few common plants, trees, and wildlife. Registration is capped at 10, so contact us early to reserve your spot. Kayaks will be available at the park or you may bring your own if you like. All participants are required to wear a life jacket. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The training will last about 60 minutes and the on-water tour lasts about 1-2 hours, paddling a distance of approximately 2 miles.
Participants should wear quick dry clothing, shoes that can get wet, and should bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat and sunglasses.

End your weekend on the perfect note with an evening of live music under the moonlight as The Barnacle Society presents DeBlois Milledge. Bringing an acoustic, folk, pop mix to the grounds of one of Coconut Grove’s oldest homes, the concert will highlight the musical stylings of a hometown girl. A Miami native and a prolific songwriter, DeBlois has four solo EPs from her time growing up in South Florida (Palmetto and Pine, Nobody Out, Leviathan and Velveteen) and four more with her San Diego based band The Boundary Birds (While You’re Waiting, Night Painting, Gems, and The Boundary Birds). Fans of female vocalists like Carol King and Sheryl Crow will love DeBlois.
On-street and off-street paid parking is available throughout Coconut Grove. Visitors with a Disabled Person Parking Permit may call the Ranger Station for additional parking information.
Purchase tickets at the gate. The gate opens one hour before show time.
Picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs are welcome. No pets, please.
