As you roam down the short trail to the Cow Camp, you will travel back in time to 1876. At the end of the trail, you will find a Florida Cow Hunter in a frontier camp along the route of a cattle drive. He will be cooking, making coffee, tending to the cattle or just resting up until the next roundup or cattle drive. The Cow Hunter will be very happy to share stories about what his life is like and the challenges he faces.
Offsite Cow Camps are available for groups of 15 or more, schools, community organizations, special events, etc. Call the Ranger Station for more information.

This program is designed for anyone interested in kayaking, particularly beginners. An instructor certified by the American Canoe Association will teach you the basics of kayaking during this three hour session. You will learn kayak safety, boarding kayaks, paddling strokes, and basic paddling maneuvers.
The training is limited to 6 participants and is $25 per person. Kayak, paddle, and Personal Flotation Device (PFD) rentals are included in the training fee. No children under 14 years of age please. Children 14-17 are able to participate ONLY with a registered parent/guardian accompanying them. Kayaking is a water sport so expect to get wet and dress accordingly. There are no refunds available for the training, unless another participant can fill the spot.
