Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park and the Friends of Maclay Gardens Inc. would like to invite the public to come out and enjoy one-of- a kind scarecrows during the month of October.  As you meander through the historic gardens, enjoy the artistic display of scarecrows. If you would like to join the fun contest, we are looking for a few good scarecrows.  The registration deadline is October 3, 2016 and the contest is open to individuals, businesses, community groups, schools and/or families are welcome. Scarecrows will be on display October 8 - October 31, 2016.

Additional Information:

Registration fee for entering the contest is $25 and youth registration fee is $10.  Entry forms may be found online at http://friendsofmaclaygardens.org and Maclay Gardens State Park.  Checks should be made payable to "Friends Of Maclay Gardens".

The JCI Ocala Jaycees present the 44th Annual Haunted House in partnership with Silver Springs State Park, every Friday and Saturday evening in October.

This will be an evening of fun and fear and will feature multiple scare zones as well as food and drink service.

No costumes or masks permitted. This is a scary event and may not be suitable for young children. Please read participation requirements in the additional information section.

Additional Information:

Enter the park through the main entrance located at 5656 East Silver Springs Blvd. (SR 40). The gates will be closed promptly at 10:00 p.m. and no new visitors will be allowed entry. Visitors that have already participated will be able to exit through a one-way gate.
