Muzzleloading Gun Season 2016-2017 @ Rock Springs Run State Reserve

Regular park entry fees apply for non-hunters. 

Permitted hunters are exempt from park admission on the days of the hunt and the preview day before the hunt.  Hunter access at other times requires normal park admission.

During this weekend of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission's Rock Spring Wildlife Management Area Muzzleloading Gun Hunt, the park is open for normal activities. However, to protect our visitors, some trails will be closed. All hunting areas and trail closures will be clearly posted. For more information about hunting and trail closures, please call Wekiwa Springs State Park at (407) 884-2009 .

As you roam down the short trail to the Cow Camp, you will travel back in time to 1876. At the end of the trail, you will find a Florida Cow Hunter in a frontier camp along the route of a cattle drive. He will be cooking, making coffee, tending to the cattle or just resting up until the next roundup or cattle drive. The Cow Hunter will be very happy to share stories about what his life is like and the challenges he faces.

Offsite Cow Camps are available for groups of 15 or more, schools, community organizations, special events, etc. Call the Ranger Station for more information.

Swing your partner, do-si-do, and promenade down to The Barnacle for an outdoor contra dance held under a covered pavilion by Biscayne Bay! These fun and friendly group dances are open to everyone and include a caller and a live acoustic band. The gates open at 6:00 p.m. Pre-dance instruction begins at 6:30, and dancing starts at 7:00 p.m. Picnics are welcome and snacks to share are encouraged.

On-street and off-street paid parking is available throughout Coconut Grove. Visitors with a Disabled Person Parking Permit may call the Ranger Station for additional parking information.
