Join a Ranger and explore our barrier island. Learn about the Maritime Hammock plants, how they protect us, and what we can do to protect them. Exciting discoveries are made along the beach, across the dunes and through cool, shaded hammock areas.
We suggest wearing comfortable clothes and bringing a water bottle, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Reservations recommended.

Take a leisurely one-mile walk over the estuary and along the beach with a park naturalist. Find out what washes ashore on the beach during the night and learn about coastal wildlife. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

The Department of Environmental Protection's Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park would like to invite you and your family out for a one of a kind hayride. Come enjoy a hayride down the majestic brick path of the gardens where you will get to view unique and creative scarecrows. We will be briefly stopping at each scarecrow so you can really enjoy the details and artwork. After the hayride participants will have a chance to vote for their favorite scarecrow to receive the People's Choice Award!
The last hayride will be at 6:45 p.m.
