Junior Ranger Adventure: Sea Turtles! @ Lovers Key State Park

Join a park ranger to explore the fascinating life of the sea turtles that visit Lovers Key each summer. Learn about their nesting behavior and find out what you can do to help protect them.  Discover the hardships sea turtles face during some fun activities on the beach!

Program is appropriate for kids aged 6 and up. Pre-registration is required, spaces are limited. To register, please call the Ranger Station at (239) 463-4588.

Can’t make it to the program, but want to become a Florida Park Service Junior Ranger? No problem Junior Ranger Kits are available at the Ranger Station during park hours.

Topsail Hill Preserve State park invites you to enjoy an informational program about one of the most important species in the world, the common honey bee. More than 25,000 species of bees have been identified around the world, with 3,500 within the continental U.S. Of all these species, only 8 to 10 of them known todays are as “honey bees”. Without pollinators like the honey bee, there would be no fruit, no flowers and no vegetables! Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.

Join us for a moon rise at the beach! You will learn fun and interesting facts about the moon and its’ effects on the tidal ecosystem. We will leave from the beachside day use pavilion and stroll to the beach using the boardwalk located behind the pavilion and wait for the moon to appear. If you prefer, you can view the moon from the overlook. Bring a camera for beautiful photo opportunities!  

All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. This event is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. We will be meeting at the beachside pavilion on the east side of the park.  Please RSVP at Eventbrite.
