Volunteer Garden Workdays - Main Entrance @ Silver Springs State Park

Visitors that volunteer do not pay park admission but they must fill out an application.

Summer 2016 volunteer workdays will be every Friday in one of the gardens at the Main Entrance.

A water keg will be provided but please bring your own water bottle. Gardening gloves will also be provided.

If this is your first time volunteering at the park, please let the ticket booth know that you are here for the garden workday and they will direct you to the gardens.

Locations for the different workdays will be as follows:
July 22 - Rock Garden
July 29 - Wildflower Garden
Aug 05 - Wildflower Garden
Aug 12 - Camellia Garden
Aug 19 - Osceola Garden
Aug 26 - Crossroads Garden and Mammoth Deck
Sept 02 - Wildflower Garden
Sept 09 - Reflections Garden and Fire & Water Garden
Sept 16 - Rock Garden

Canoe rental $17 for 2 hours, each additional hour is $5.

Single Kayak $15 for 2 hours, each additional hour is $6. 

Double Kayak $20 for 2 hours, each additional hour is $6.

Explore the natural wonders of the Loxahatchee River. Rent a canoe or kayak at the park's River Store or bring your own and join us for a fun and leisurely paddle. Registration is required.

Beach Walk and Estuary Tour @ Lovers Key State Park

Take a leisurely one-mile walk over the estuary and along the beach with a park ranger. Find out what washes ashore on the beach during the night and learn about coastal wildlife. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

Perseid Meteor Shower Night Walk @ Dade Battlefield Historic State Park

Cost is $3/vehicle park entrance, $2 bicyclist or walk-in or annual park pass.

Night walk on the trails of Dade Battlefield then a look at the night sky for shooting stars, weather permitting.  Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, water, and lawn chair or blanket. 

Operation Beach Clean Up @ Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

There is no charge to volunteer for our beach clean ups.

Join us on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 8:30 - 11:30 AM. starting August 13, 2016 for the rest of the year. This clean up will be in conjunction with the Friends of Cape Florida Inc. Our Beach clean up will be a chance to give back to our  beaches that we enjoy all summer. after cleaning, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.
