Summer 2016 volunteer workdays will be every Friday in one of the gardens at the Main Entrance.
A water keg will be provided but please bring your own water bottle. Gardening gloves will also be provided.
If this is your first time volunteering at the park, please let the ticket booth know that you are here for the garden workday and they will direct you to the gardens.

July 29 - Wildflower Garden
Aug 05 - Wildflower Garden
Aug 12 - Camellia Garden
Aug 19 - Osceola Garden
Aug 26 - Crossroads Garden and Mammoth Deck

Join us the First Friday of each month for a ranger led Garden and History Tour of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. Visitors will meet in the Garden parking lot and the walk will begin at 10am. Wear comfortable shoes for this 45min-1 hour walking tour. Program included with park entry.

Take a mile-long guided hike along our Black Island Trail with a park ranger to learn about the fascinating vegetation and wildlife that reside in this maritime hammock. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

Volunteers from the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association will set up several telescopes for public viewing of star clusters, planets, and galaxies, as well as answer questions about the night sky. In addition, the club will set up their solar telescopes for safe viewing of the sun starting at 4:30pm. All ages are invited. The park gates will close at sunset, all those attending the viewing must arrive at the park prior to sunset in order to enter. If bringing a flashlight, it is recommended that it is covered with a red lens. This event is weather permitting.
Attendees must enter park prior to sunset.
