Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to learn how to fish from the beach here at Topsail. Fishing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, have some fun, and catch a tasty meal. Many people first learned to fish by having an experienced angler take them fishing. Unfortunately not every person that would like to try fishing knows someone that can teach them the basics. Every fisherman had to start from the beginning – as a beginner. Join a Park Ranger for a how to beginner’s lesson on surf fishing. Participants must have a valid Florida Fishing License. A one day, three day or annual license can be purchased via myFWC.com at most local bait and tackle stores or at Walmart. Enter the park through the main gate and tell park staff at the Ranger Station that you are here for the Shore Fishing Clinic, they will direct you to Tram stop #1, the tram will transport you to the Beach Access Boardwalk meet at the covered pavilion. Equipment is provided if needed. Guests must register in advance at the Ranger Station.
Please make sure that you are dressed appropriately for the weather, have adequate drinking water and sunscreen.
