The Wildlife Ranger Camp program is held at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Camp topics include learning about Florida's wildlife, preserving natural resources, and wildlife habitats. Indoor and outdoor activities are included. The program is limited to 20 campers. The June Wildlife Ranger Camp is for children ages 10, 11, and 12 year olds. The camp hours are from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm each day.
The Wildlife Ranger Camp takes place in the Wildlife Park. The June camp is for 8 and 9 year olds.
In order to participate in this program, one:
* Must have the ability to follow verbal and/or visual instruction independently or with the assistance of a companion
* Must have the ability to board and disembark from the tram independently or with the assistance of a companion
* Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors (including Florida's climate extremes) for a period of at least 2 hours per day
* Must have the ability to withstand periods of full exposure to the sun
* Must have the ability to withstand exposure to very high humidity for extended periods of time
* Must have the ability to move quickly to a place of shelter if necessary either independently or with the assistance of a companion
* Must be able to traverse uneven grassy terrain either independently or with the assistance of a companion
Sea Turtle Talk and Walk @ John D. MacArthur Beach State ParkMonday, July 11, 2016 - 8:00pm to 11:45pm EDT

Each June and July MacArthur Beach State Park offers evening turtle walks so that visitors can have a chance at viewing loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs. This ancient ritual is a sight not to be missed! Turtle Walks fill up quickly so be sure to register early. Registration will be on-line and sold as "tickets" through www.macarthurbeach.org. Price is $10.00 per ticket, non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Park staff. Registration launches on May 31 at 9am (It will fill up quickly). Walk Schedule starts on June 6 runs through July 29 (M, W & F with the exception of July 4).
Ranger Guided Sea Turtle Walk @ Sebastian Inlet State ParkMonday, July 11, 2016 - 9:00pm to 11:45pm EDT

Learn about Florida's endangered sea turtles and then take a nighttime walk on the beach to witness a mother loggerhead sea turtle lay her eggs in the warm beach sands of Sebastian Inlet State Park.
A maximum of 6 reservations can be made per family. There are no group reservations. The program beach is an isolated area; once the beachwalk portion begins, individuals within the group are committed to stay together until the end of the program.
NO flash photography, flashlights or cell phone lights are allowed on the beach. There are no water or restroom facilities once on the beach.
Wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers. Bring insect repellent. Wear dark-colored long pants and long sleeves if you are not tolerant of mosquitoes and no-see-ums.
This program may require an up-to three-mile walk on the beach.
Sebastian Inlet State Park will start taking sea turtle walk reservations on May 15, at 10:30 a.m. for June’s Turtle Walk programs. Sebastian Inlet State Park will start taking sea turtle walk reservations on June 15, at 10:30 a.m. for July’s Turtle Walk programs. The tours have limited space available. Reservations can be made between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Participants with reservations will meet on their scheduled night at the Sebastian Inlet Fishing Museum, 14251 North Highway A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963. The program starts promptly at 9 pm.
