Eco Adventure Days Summer Camp, June Session @ Ravine Gardens State Park

Eco Adventure Days is a fun and educational way for child to discover the amazing diversity of Florida’s natural resources.  Campers will learn about the diverse habitats of Ravine Gardens, conduct scientific experiments in a fun environment, and even work on projects at the park like a real park ranger!  This three day event will be filled with learning objectives and corresponding activities, games, and crafts!

The program will start at 9 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. each day.  The camp is limited to 30 campers.  Campers must be going into the third, fourth or fifth grade in the 2016-2017 school year.

The summer camp is $25 per child.  This includes all activities and instruction for the week, as well as healthy snacks and lunches.  Camp fees benefit the Friends of Ravine Gardens, who supply all of the materials for the summer camp.  Lunch will be provided each day by the Putnam County School Food Service Program.

The 3rd annual Cool Summer 5K Series is a celebration of summertime. Summer is the season that we work hard for and anticipate so we can spend time with our loved ones and create precious memories. The Cool Summer 5K Series is a run/walk course through beautiful St. Andrews State Park, helping to benefit the Friends of St. Andrews State Park. The Cool Summer 5K Series is every Wednesday beginning June 22 – July 27 at 7:30 a.m. (excluding Wednesday, July 6th). Every participant will receive the 2016 Cool Summer 5K t-shirt, swag bag filled with local goodness, bib and finisher medal.

The Department of Environmental Protection's Camp Helen State Park and The Friends of Camp Helen will Host Movies and More on June 29th, 2016. A  brief Interpretive program on Sea Turtles presented by Gulf World will start the night followed by an old-fashion cookout including Hotdogs and s'mores. After that stay for the movie " A Turtles Tale: Sammy's Adventures". Join Sammy the Green Sea Turtle on his wonderful adventures searching for his one, lost true love Shelly .  Movie is rated PG. Note Children must be accompanied by a parent of guardian.

Each June and July MacArthur Beach State Park offers evening turtle walks so that visitors can have a chance at viewing loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs. This ancient ritual is a sight not to be missed! Turtle Walks fill up quickly so be sure to register early.  Registration will be on-line and sold as "tickets" through www.macarthurbeach.org.  Price is $10.00 per ticket, non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Park staff.  Registration launches on May 31 at 9am (It will fill up quickly).  Walk Schedule starts on June 6 runs through July 29 (M, W & F with the exception of July 4).
