Junior Ranger Adventure: Animal Tracks! @ Lovers Key State Park

Join a park ranger to discover the exciting world of animal tracks.  Learn about what animals live in the park and make which tracks. Then go on a short adventure hike to look for animal tracks from the park’s wildlife.    Participants will be able make their own animal tracks to take home using molds and plaster. Program is appropriate for kids aged 6 and up. Pre-registration is required, spaces are limited. To register, please call the Ranger Station at (239) 463-4588 .

Can’t make it to the programs, but want to become a Florida Park Service Junior Ranger? No problem, Junior Ranger Kits are available at the Ranger Station during park hours.

Woodstove Cooking Demonstration & Tasting @ Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park

Park entry fee is $3.00 per car plus $3.00 per adult, $2.00 per child (6-12 years) for the historic house tour.  Cash or check only.

House tour times which will include this demonstration are 10AM, 11AM, 1PM, 2PM and 3PM only on both days.

Take an historic house tour and watch park ranger Carrie Todd & volunteers demonstrate Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' methods for cooking a variety of her recipes on the kitchen's vintage woodstove.

Additional Information:

These cooking demonstrations highlight the joy and satisfaction of Rawlings' ability to make use of ingredients from her own farm.  Different samples will be offered throughout the day for tasting, and ingredients used will be posted at the demonstration.

 Join a park naturalist for a photogenic tour of the estuaries of Lovers Key. Bring your camera to learn where the best places are to snap that perfect photo & learn about the plants and animals that make this ecosystem home. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

Kids Club @ Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

Standard entrance/admission fees for will apply for day use visitors. For campers that are staying here at Topsail there is no fee. There is no additional program participation fee. Donations to the Citizen Support Organization, Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to help defray the cost of consumable supplies are appreciated and accepted.

Make learning fun for the children that are visiting the park by participating in a variety of environmental, educational arts and crafts projects and games. Some of the craft projects will include the use of hot glue guns. Children will learn about wildlife, park history, beach, bike safety and other topics... Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. The program has a maximum capacity of 25, sign up at the Camp Store. The program will take place inside the Clubhouse.
