For children ages 8-12, different historical themes for each day. Visits by reenactors, pioneer and Seminole foods, pioneer and Seminole games, learning pioneer and Seminole chores and home life and reenacting Dade's Battle.
Pioneer Day Camp meets at the Dade Lodge.
Sea Turtle Walks and Talks @ John D. MacArthur Beach State ParkMonday, June 6, 2016 - 8:00pm to 11:45pm EDT

Each June and July, MacArthur Beach State Park offers evening turtle walks so that visitors can have a chance at viewing loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs. This ancient ritual is a sight not to be missed! Turtle Walks fill up quickly so be sure to register early. Registration will be on-line and sold as “tickets” through www.macarthurbeach.org. Price is $10 per ticket, non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Park staff. Registration launches on May 31 at 9am (It will fill up quickly). Walk Schedule starts on June 6 runs through July 29 (M, W & F with the exception of July 4).

Learn about Florida's endangered sea turtles and then take a nighttime walk on the beach to witness a mother loggerhead sea turtle lay her eggs in the warm beach sands of Sebastian Inlet State Park.
A maximum of 6 reservations can be made per family. There are no group reservations. The program beach is an isolated area; once the beachwalk portion begins, individuals within the group are committed to stay together until the end of the program.
NO flash photography, flashlights or cell phone lights are allowed on the beach. There are no water or restroom facilities once on the beach.
Wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers. Bring insect repellent. Wear dark-colored long pants and long sleeves if you are not tolerant of mosquitoes and no-see-ums.
This program may require an up-to three-mile walk on the beach.
Sebastian Inlet State Park will start taking sea turtle walk reservations on May 15, at 10:30 a.m. for June’s Turtle Walk programs. Sebastian Inlet State Park will start taking sea turtle walk reservations on June 15, at 10:30 a.m. for July’s Turtle Walk programs. The tours have limited space available. Reservations can be made between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Participants with reservations will meet on their scheduled night at the Sebastian Inlet Fishing Museum, 14251 North Highway A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963. The program starts promptly at 9 pm.
