Estuary Wading Tour @ Lovers Key State Park

Join a park ranger to learn about the marine species that make the estuary and barrier island environments unique, and explore sea grass flats. Seahorses, shrimp, young fish, and egg casings of all sorts inhabit the grasses, which attract larger fish, mollusks and crustaceans, and manatees, dolphins and rays. Guests will get wet as they venture into the estuary. The Estuary Wading Trip is sponsored by the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP).  Due to limited space, reservations are required.

The Department of Environmental Protection's Eden Gardens State Park will host a Star Gazing program on May 27th, 2016. Volunteers from the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association will set up several telescopes for public viewing of star clusters, planets and galaxies.  They will also answer questions about the night sky. All ages are invited to enjoy an evening of star gazing. The park will close at sunset at 7:41 pm. All those attending the star gaze should arrive prior to sunset. Bring a picnic, blankets and chairs and enjoy the Dark Sky with us.  Event is Weather Permitting**
