St. Andrews State Park is hosting the Workout Anytime JBJ 5K on May 14, 2016. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome at this family friendly race. The flat and fast course is surrounded by sugary white beaches and the emerald green waters of the Gulf. The Workout Anytime JBJ 5K is in association with the Panama City Beach Jeep Jam and is benefitting the charity "Lift for the 22". Help support the cause and show your American Pride.

Guided Paddling Tour @ Hillsborough River State Park

Saturday, May 14, 2016 - 9:00am to 11:00am EDT

Regular park admission applies.

Their is no charge for the tour.  You may bring your own canoe/kayak or rent one from the park's concession.

A limited number of kayaks may be available for use through the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network.  If you would like to reserve one of these kayaks during the event, you must send your request to reserve one to Park Services Specialist, Alex Kinder:  douglas.kinder@dep.state.fl.us

Canoe rental fees:

Minimum of two hours for $25.00 per canoe, plus tax
Three hours for $35.00, plus tax four hours $40.00, plus tax
All day $50.00, plus tax

Kayaks: $15.00 an hour, plus tax.

Hours for canoes rentals can be obtained by contacting the Hillsborough Park Pool Side Cafe at: (813) 986-3322 ; or by visiting their website.

Take a leisurely 90 minute paddle down the Hillsborough River and learn about the natural history and natural communities that make the Hillsborough River watershed so unique and important.  This volunteer-led tour will be enjoyable for individuals, families, and groups.

Take a 90 minute paddle down Zipper Canal that flows through the central part of Lake Kissimmee State Park to Lake Rosalie. This ranger-led tour will give you an appreciation of the flora and fauna found in this area of the state. Tours are limited to six kayaks - bring your own or rent one from the camp store in the park.

Join us for a few hours of sun and surf and help keep MacArthur Beach State Park clean.  Beach clean-ups help remove trash which might otherwise end up endangering sea turtles or shorebirds.  Participants will receive gloves and trash bags.  Please bring a reusable water bottle, hat and sunscreen.  Community service hours will be given upon request.  Free entry into the Park if assisting with the event.  For more information contact (561) 776-7449 ext. 109

Each month Tomoka State Park will host a fun family program such as living history demonstrations, crafting, or an educational program of some type with a hands-on activity (when applicable). Past programs have included Indigo Dye-making, Seminole/Timucuan Indians, Spinning, Rug Weaving, Pine Needle Basketry and more. When a demonstrator is not available we will have on hand Junior Ranger kits, scavenger hunt sheets and other kids activities for our Echo Ranger participants and park guests.
