Join a park naturalist for a three-mile adventure down our Black Island Trail. Learn a little park history and experience some of the wildlife that call this maritime hammock home. Bring your own bike or rent one from the park concession. Due to limited space, reservations are required.

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park and the Friends of Maclay Gardens, Inc. invite the public to attend the 22nd Annual Tour of Gardens. This tour of privately owned gardens is a fundraising event and a welcome to spring for many folks in the area. The day will begin with a breakfast at Maclay Gardens at 9:00 a.m. along with a silent auction. Participants will then be given maps and directions for a self-paced and self-driving tour to visit fine privately owned home gardens in the Tallahassee area. This educational event displays diverse styles of gardens and solutions to common landscape design challenges and is enjoyable for all who appreciate the art of gardening. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions at each garden.
