Winter is here and the cool weather is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the park. Hurry up and make your camping reservations; sit outside by the campfire, roast marshmallows and spend some time with your family and friends in the “Real Florida”! Both campgrounds have exceptional restroom facilities and both camping areas provide visitors with a variety of camping experiences from shaded sites near the St Mary’s Inlet to open camping adjacent to the beach shoreline!
Great opportunities await for you to hike the parks nature trails, mountain bike the parks shared use trails or take a leisurely stroll along the parks 3 mile drive. The Park offers one of the most well preserved maritime hammock communities which provides critical habitat for a diversity of wildlife including White Tailed Deer, Raccoons and other wildlife regularly seen at the park!
Be sure to visit Historic Fort Clinch and the Visitor Center during your visit. The Fort is manned by Living History Interpreters daily that provide a valuable glimpse into our nation’s past during the Civil War. The Visitor Center provides a wide variety of educational material, refreshments, souvenirs, firewood and more!
The park has worked hard to increase accessibility and improve services and programs offered at the park. All of the bathhouse facilities and boardwalks are fully accessible. The park also offers a variety of wheelchairs including beach wheelchairs and a standard wheelchair to access the fort facility. Please take the time to let us know of any improvements that can be made or even minor modifications that will help you fully enjoy your experience at Fort Clinch State Park.
