Ready, Aim, Fire!

Welcome! This is a great time to visit Fort Mose Historic State Park. We offer a soothing getaway from the sun, whether indoors in the air conditioned Visitor Center or outdoors under our gorgeous shade trees. Learn the story of the first legally sanctioned free African settlement inside the visitors center which offers interactive displays that re-tell the story (Closed on Tuesday's and Wednesday's). This time of year is a great time to view the wildlife from the boardwalk which overlooks the marsh or maybe have a picnic lunch at the pavilion.

If you are looking for a way to help, the Fort Mose Historic Society will be hosting thier annual golf tournament, visit www.fortmosegolf.com.  The Society is also raising funds to construct  a representation of the 1738 fort.  This project woudl be a tremendous asset in telling the Fort Mose story.  For more information or to get invloved, please visit www.fortmose.org.

Check the events page for more about the annual reenactment of the Battle of Bloody Mose or other events happening at the park.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

Mark Giblin
