The calendar may say it is winter but it is a great time to take a break and unwind from your busy life in this beautiful state park just 16 miles from downtown Orlando. Wekiwa is a full service state park with something for everyone. With the days being cooler why not hike along a portion of more than 13 miles of trails and then revitalize in the refreshing 72 degree spring. Or rent a canoe, kayak or paddle board for a trip down the Wekiva River, one of two recognized National Wild & Scenic Rivers in Florida.  You can also come out and spend a night or two, we have a full service campground to accommodate everyone from people with tents to large Class A RV’s.

Come early to catch a glimpse of some of the exciting wildlife around the park including deer, turkey, fox squirrels, shorebirds and even Florida Black Bear. Please keep in mind that bears and other wildlife can become a nuisance if their behaviour is interrupted by humans. Be sure to enjoy the wildlife from a safe distance. While visitation is lighter this time of the year we still recommend arriving early on weekends and holidays to beat the crowds. We do close the park when we reach our maximum carrying capacity.
