looking down the hill to the springs with people resting on the grass

Spring is here and it’s a great time to take a break and unwind from your busy life in this beautiful state park just 16 miles from downtown Orlando.

Wekiwa is a full service state park with something for everyone. Why not hike along a portion of more than 13 miles of trails and then revitalize in the refreshing 72 degree spring. Or rent a canoe, kayak or paddle board for a trip down the Wekiva River, one of two recognized National Wild & Scenic Rivers in Florida.  Our campground offers water and electricity (30Amp service, 50Amp service on sites 1-30 only) and sewer hook-ups on selected sites. Reservations can be made thru ReserveAmerica.

Come early to catch a glimpse of some of the exciting wildlife around the park including deer, turkey, fox squirrels, shorebirds and even Florida Black Bear. Please keep in mind that bears and other wildlife can become a nuisance if their behaviour is interrupted by humans. Be sure to enjoy the wildlife from a safe distance.

With the warmer weather, we have a very high visitation demand for admission on weekends and holidays. We recommend arriving early to beat the crowds. We do close the park when our parking area is full at which time no vehicles, bicyclists or pedestrians are admitted to the park until spaces open up.
