Sasha Craft, Park Manager
Welcome to Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park! Thank you for your interest in the park. Maclay Gardens is a historical gem located in the north region of Tallahassee, FL. Our park consists of a recreation area, an 11-mile trail system and 28-acres of historical gardens! We provide several recreational opportunities to our park visitors to include kayaks and mountain bike rentals. If you would like to spend a day paddling around Lake Hall or mountain biking on one of our trails, the park has everything you need! Contact the Park's Ranger Station (850-487-4556) for more information.
In addition to our recreational opportunities, we also host several programs and special events throughout the year. Here are two that are coming up soon! The Friends of Maclay Gardens will host the 24th Annual Tour of Gardens on May 19, 2018. Participants enjoy a breakfast on the grounds. During breakfast, participants receive a map of several diverse and spectacular residential landscapes and a wonderful community garden located in the Greater Tallahassee area. Another fun program we are now hosting is Garden Yoga! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, all experience levels are welcome. Be sure to bring a water bottle, towel and/or blanket, yoga mat and a smile. The class is from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday. For more information on these events and more, please see our Park Events page.
Interested in becoming involved with Maclay Gardens? We are always looking for volunteers to join our team! If you would like to help keep the gardens beautiful, work in the ranger station, help keep trails maintained, perform historical research and documentation, or help in any other way, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Terri Messler, at 850-245-2959. We have a number of positions available and training is provided.
The Friends of Maclay Gardens, Inc. is our citizen support organization. This is a dedicated group of volunteers that you can become involved with! They generate support for Maclay Gardens through work projects, community relations, exhibits, fund raising activities, special events, and educational activities.
