Longleaf Pines

Summer is here and what a better way to make new memories with family and friends then to spend a day at the park. The Park offers nearly 5 miles of hiking trails that traverse through 6 distinct natural communities. Each community is home to unique plants and wildlife that will give visitors a glimpse into “The Real Florida”. We have a picnic and playground area along with a nice freshwater beach to enjoy (swimming is not currently available). We also have an indoor recreation hall and outdoor pavilion for rent.

Fort Cooper is known by locals to have some of Citrus County's best birding and wildlife viewing in the area. Come out and see what you can find.

Pets are welcome in the park if they are on a leash no longer than 6-feet. They are permitted in the picnic area and hiking trails but are not allowed on the beach, playground area or in the water.
