With summer just beginning, there’s no better place to be than Dr. Von D. Mizell – Eula Johnson State Park. Where there are endless ways to enjoy our natural attributes. When you’ve had enough sun, take a relaxing dip in the ocean, or walk through the Barrier Island Trail where the tall trees provide ample shade and a cool break from the days heat. the months of June and July, the park offers nightly turtle walks to the public. Walks are given on Wednesday and Friday nights beginning at 9:00 pm. Reservations may be made by telephone by calling (954) 924-3859, Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. If everything goes right the visitor will be able to see a marine sea turtle emerge from the ocean and lay her eggs on the beach before returning to the sea.
