Give the land a helping hand! Celebrate National Public Lands Day by giving back to the public land you love. Help us take the first step with a restoration workday to restore former agricultural crop fields to native habitat. Workday projects include trash removal, invasive plant removal and native planting, at one or more sites within the park. Get involed, see a different side of the park, and celebrate the public lands we love! #NPLD https://www.neefusa.org/site-event/restoration-workday.
Workday participants enter the park for free. Following the workday, stay and play in the park.
Register today by calling the Ranger Station. Advance registration is encouraged, but participants are welcome up to the morning of the workday.
Meet at the Picnic Area Parking Lot. Registration 8:30-9am; Workday 9am-12noon. Project sites include remote locations requiring travel to a second staging area, and may require walking up to 1/2 mile (one way) for site access.
Participants should bring a refillable water container, gloves, sunscreen, and insect repellent and wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, lightweight clothing that may get dirty and/or wet. Long pants are recommended for extra protection. The park will provide work gloves, tools, drinking water and snacks.
