Winter and early spring is an awesome time to visit Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park. The 5 mile main park drive is a nice relaxing scenic experience to take in the view of some beautiful unspoiled panoramic natural prairie vistas. This time of year offers some of the best wildlife viewing. Plenty of turkeys and deer spotted regularly around the campground. The birding opportunities increase with all the migrations of species coming to visit the prairie. Roseate spoon bills, Wood storks, and Sandhill Cranes offer great rewarding experiences. Reserve a spot at the office for one of our public buggy tours and you will be impressed with the Florida Dry Prairie. We are the largest remaining continuous tract of dry prairie interspersed with wet prairie, wet lands, and sloughs. Remember to look at the Prairie not through it. You will be impressed with the diversity of plants and animals.
