Insects love thistle

Let me introduce myself. My name is Teresa Good, and I am so happy to be the new park manager at Payne's Creek Historic State Park. My career with the park service started over eleven years ago as a volunteer at Myakka River State Park. It wasn't long before I had the opportunity to become a ranger, and then years later a park services specialist at Myakka. When I first visited Payne's Creek Historic State Park, I fell in love with the rich history, culture and beauty that lies within it's boundaries. Bordered by the Peace River on the east side and Payne's Creek running through the center of the park, the natural areas offer wonderful opportunities for fishing, canoeing, photography, birding, wildlife viewing and picnicking. I am excited to get to know the community outside the park boundaries as well and invite everyone to come explore this beautiful piece of land known as The Real Florida!
