Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park

Join us as we care for our historic orange grove and garden. We will spend the morning weeding and fertilizing our orange trees and preparing the garden for fall planting. Plan for warm weather by bringing a hat, sunscreen and water bottle. Gloves and sturdy shoes are also recommended. Park staff will share information about Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' life on the homestead as volunteers get a seek-peek at the behind the scenes work that keeps this historic site running.

Experience with Florida gardening or caring for citrus trees is helpful, but not in any way necessary. All we need are an enthusiasm for public service and a willingness to get dirty. Call 352-466-3672 or email Carrie Todd for more information
