Blackwater Heritage State Trail

Come join us while we celebrate National Public Lands Day. Learn a little while you give back a lot! Blackwater Heritage State Trail will be having a presentation on Florida's "alien invaders", the epidemic of non native plant species in Florida's ecosystem. Following the presentation, willing participants can join the rangers on a hike to identify and remove some of these plants by hand. We will also be picking up any trash we find along the way.

Please be prepared to work in outdoor conditions.  You will need closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting muddy, gloves, a hat, sunblock, bug spray, and most importantly a water bottle.  We will provide the garbage bags and icewater to refill water bottles as needed.

National Public Lands Day is also National Bike Your Park Day! Be sure to bring your bike along for a self guided ride afterwards.
