Little Manatee River State Park

Join us for a Ranger led group bike ride in celebration of National Bike Your Park Day! The ride will begin with a short safety discussion, then embark on the main park drive as it winds through Little Manatee River State Park. There will be ample opportunities to see wildlife such as White-tailed Deer, Gopher tortoise, and the Southern black racer, plus a chance to see a spectacular sunset at the end of the ride.

Persons of all ages and abilities are welcome. The group ride will cover 4-6 miles, and last approximately 1 1/2 hours.  Bring your own bike, or reserve a rental bike from the Ranger Station. Please see additional information for more details on the program and what to bring.

Fees: 

Park admission fees apply.  Bicycle rental rates apply if reserving a rental bike for ride.  The program is free with paid park entrance and for registered campers who provide their own bike.   

Park Entrance Fees

Vehicle entrance (2-8 people) $5.00

Vehicle entrance (1 person) $4.00

Individuals on foot, bicycle, or bus, and extra persons with Individual Annual Pass holders $2.00

Bicycle rental fees

Bike rental (2 hrs) = $5.00+tax/ bike

Bike rental (all day, 8am-5pm*) = $10.00+tax/ bike 

*bikes rented for Group Ride may be returned to Ranger Station immediately following the ride

Additional Information: 

The ride will begin at the Picnic Area Parking Lot, the second right off the main park drive.  Program location and directions will be posted at the Ranger Station on the evening of the program.

The course distance and speed for the evening bicycle ride will be determined on the day of the program based on road conditions, weather conditions, and group ability. The bike ride will last up to 1 1/2 hours and cover up to 6 miles at a pace of 5-10mph. The ride will include short water breaks and an early release point for riders who prefer to take a shorter ride.

Bring your own bike and helmet or reserve a rental bike from the Ranger Station. Helmets are required for persons under 16 and encouraged for all riders.  Reservations for rental bikes can be made by calling the Ranger Station, beginning September 1st. Participants using rental bikes are responsible for transporting the bike from the Ranger Station to the Picnic Area, and returning bike at the end of the ride, a distance just over 1 mile each way. Persons who reserve a rental bike should arrive no later than 4:15pm on the day of the program. Standard rental rates apply.

Participants are encouraged to bring sunscreen, insect repellant, a water bottle, and a light rain jacket if rain is forecast. The Group Ride will take place in sun, light rain or light wind. In case of severe inclement weather, call the Ranger Station on the day of the program to confirm if the program will occur.

Florida State Parks are in various stages of accessibility. If you need special accommodations to make your full participation possible, please contact the Ranger Station in advance.
