Thank you for your interest in Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. It is a wonderful time of year to go fishing, do some birdwatching or rent a kayak on the river. Gather your friends and family together to have a picnic in one of our five pavilions next to the Intracoastal Waterway. Don’t forget to relax on the golden-brown coquina sand beaches to watch the shorebirds feed with the ebb and flow of the waves. Take a break from the sunny beach and hike on the Joe Kenner Nature Trail (3/4 mile in length) to explore what the shady maritime hammock has to offer.
If you’re lucky enough to be camping with us, be sure to catch the sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean and the sunsets over the Intracoastal Waterway all within the same park. Our very popular campground is separated into two different areas – the Beachside Camping Area and the Riverside Camping Area. Both areas offer a great way to enjoy “The Real Florida.”
We also have a citizen support organization called Friends of Gamble Rogers State Park - AKA ‘FROGRS’ - that supports Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area and North Peninsula State Park through volunteerism and fundraising. ‘Like’ them on Facebook and see what's going on!
