Welcome to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park! Come out and visit our beautiful piece of the Real Florida in the heart of Fort Lauderdale where you can enjoy shade covered walking trails, an amazing ocean view, fishing along the Intracoastal and direct access to the beach. The road has been widened to include a designated lane for walking, running, bicycling, roller blading or walking your dog. You can rent a canoe, kayak, SUP, peddle boat, jetski or beach chair and umbrella from our concessionaire. The park’s fresh water coastal dune lake, named Long Lake, is a great place to paddle and the “moat” is navigable for the first time in many years. Our restaurant, Park & Ocean, is open daily and serves delicious specialties such as fish tacos, kale salad, shrimp grilled cheese sandwiches, local beer and smoothies. We have several miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court and pavilions. While visiting, you may be fortunate enough to see a passing manatee, yellow-crowned night heron, gopher tortoise or atala butterfly. We look forward to seeing you and we hope you enjoy everything the park has to offer.
