Jonathan Dickinson State Park has finally completed a successful fundraising campaign through the efforts of the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. They now have what has been long anticipated; their own All-Terrain Action Trackchair.
Recently, the President of the Florida State Parks Foundation, Paula Russo, visited the park and rode in the new Trackchair. She had this to say in celebration of the latest advancement:
“Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, people with limited mobility, like me, can now get out on the park’s trails with family and friends. And, that’s just what I did using their new Action Trackchair.
The Action Trackchair is an all-terrain power “wheelchair” that doesn’t have wheels! It has tracks like a tank or bulldozer making it possible to go from pavement to dirt, gravel, mud, and even loose sand.
I am forever grateful to the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park for making it possible for me to join my family on a beautiful afternoon hike. A true gift - thank you!”
We also extend our thanks to the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park for fighting to make the park experience enjoyable for every visitor and for sharing in our vision to have Access for All.
