BG Hugh Taylor Birch LLC is the place to go for bicycle rentals, Segway tours, jet skis, canoe and kayak rentals. BG Hugh Taylor Birch is located at 3109 East Sunrise Blvd. in the lush and beautiful Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
Enjoy a Segway tour through a coastal hammock trail or kayak down a freshwater costal dune lake. Grab one of our premium Townie beach cruisers or Giant road bikes and cruise down Fort Lauderdale’s famous boardwalk. With a full concession stand you can grab a drink and cool down with an ice cream as you head to the beach to ride one of our Jet Skis on the warm, crystal clear waters of South Florida. Bring the whole family, we have plenty of kid’s bikes and are child friendly.
CANOE, KAYAK AND PADDLE BOARD RENTALS
may be obtained from BG Hugh Taylor Birch, the park's concessionaire located at the Beach Gate/Concession access in the park, and adjacent to A1A. Rentals are available on the largest of the park's coastal dune lakes (and in some cases at the beach - see criteria below).
Note: please no pets allowed. Please keep all trash/rubbish on your person and dispose following excursion.
CANOES - LAGOON
Capacity is 3 people per canoe. Canoe rentals are $20.00 per hour. (3hr pricing $56.00)
Canoe rentals are limited to the interior fresh water lagoon.
SINGLE - LAGOON OR BEACH
Single Kayaks are $20.00 per hour and are for access into both the fresh water lagoon and also at the beach. (3hr pricing at $41.00)
TANDEM - LAGOON
Tandem Kayaks are $27.00 per hour and are for access only in the park's fresh water lagoon. (3hr pricing at $56.00)
PADDLE BOARDS - LAGOON AND BEACH
Paddle board rentals are $35.00 per hour (3hr pricing, $56.00)
Self-Guided Canoe Rentals (Note: BG Attendants will assist you at launching and return)
In order to participate in these programs, one:
Must not exceed the manufacturer’s weight limit for the vessel (700 pounds).
Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors for a period ranging from 45-120 minutes, depending on the rental time limit.
Must have the ability to follow verbal and visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
Must have the ability to wear a properly fitted personal flotation device.
Must have the ability to Enter and exit the canoe independently or with the assistance of a companion or with the use of adaptive equipment.
Must have the ability to remain seated, maneuver and balance independently or with the assistance of a companion or with the use of adaptive equipment.
Must have the ability to Move the canoe through the water in a stable manner and return it to the launching area.
In the event of capsize, one:
Must have the ability to the ability to get out from under the watercraft independently.
Must have the ability to the ability to right oneself and remain face up in the water with the aid of a personal flotation device.
