Entrace to Trail over historic Channel 2 Bridge

Welcome to the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail State Park!  Of the future 106 mile paved trail, 90 miles are now complete. The Keys are referenced in mile markers and our trail begins at mile marker 106 in Key Largo and ends at mile marker 0 in Key West.  Our newest section of trail is from Bay Point Key to Sugarloaf Key, mile marker 14.9 to 15.7, is ready to be enjoyed.

There are things to do for everyone:  Fish at Toms Harbor Cut or Toms Harbor Bridges where there are jutted fishing platforms or simply cross the bridges there on a bicycle or skates – this is an area where those fishing can share the trail with those who simply want to enjoy the trail.  There are 7 other fishing bridges as well to choose from.  Also, there are places along the trail where you can sit and rest and enjoy the ocean breeze or take in the sun setting right on the water.   Stroll along the trail across a boardwalk and see mangroves and other foliage and all kinds of wildlife; be sure to allow time to visit one or more of the 10 State Parks along the way.

Stop at the rest area at Knights Key and sit and watch turtles, porpoise, Stingrays, and other fish; relax at the gazebo at Saddlebunch Key; You may stop into any of the area Chamber of Commerce locations and pick up one of our new park brochure/maps to track your way across the trail or call our administrative offices for one as well at (305) 853-3571.

We hope you will enjoy a visit soon at the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail State Park.
