The North Florida Springs Alliance (NFSA) is a Citizen Support Organization (CSO) for Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park and Troy Spring State Park. CSOs were created by Florida Legislation as nonprofit cooperatives with state parks to allow users of the park to conduct programs and activities to better the park. These groups provide support to the parks by volunteering, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects. They play a vital role supporting Florida's state parks, ensuring that our natural, cultural and historical resources are protected for future generations.
With help from members and volunteers, the NFSA has conducted educational programs and made many improvements to Peacock Springs State Park including the construction of changing rooms, scuba tank benches, a walkway to the Peacock I spring basin, and an award winning interpretive hiking trail. These projects were funded by member dues and donations, the Adopt-a-Cave program, and tee shirt sales. All money raised goes to park projects and events.
If you are interested in becoming an NFSA member and receiving a monthly e-newsletter, volunteering on the next park project, or just enjoying an afternoon at the next social gathering, visit the web link for NFSA.
