Gulf Pier Retrofit Sea Turtle Light Project

The Gulf Pier will be closed beginning on Monday, April 23, 2018 and will remain closed until it is completed. Gulf Pier Retrofit Sea Turtle Light project should take approximately 60 days or less. Because of the Dark Skies Initiative study and light evaluation, the park is doing this to follow the current sea turtle nesting season light codes directed by the county and state agencies. This project will consist of removing the current overhead lights, removing current electric and re-wiring on both sides of the pier and installing new sea turtle friendly ambient lights. Because this project is considered as a construction zone, there will be no water, electricity or access to the pier. We will re-open the Gulf Pier as soon as it is safe for recreational activities. Similar recreational activities are available at the Lagoon Pier or along the shoreline in the park.

I want to thank you for your patience as we upgrade our facilities to meet the current county and state codes for lights on the beach. Please call the office, 850 – 708 - 6100 if you have any questions or want additional information about this project. We look forward to assisting you as you enjoy your visit and recreation activities at St. Andrews State Park

No camping reservations will be available from November 26, 2018 until December 17, 2018. The park will be conducting prescribed fire and maintenance projects in the campground during these dates. Some walk – in campsites may be available but please call to check on the availability of these campsites before arriving to the park. Once we complete this scheduled resource management and maintenance projects, the campground will re-open. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please call the park office at 850-708-6100 if you have any questions.

Campground Reinvestment Project

St. Andrews State Park is always seeking ways to better serve our visitors and guests. As a result, our campground will be undergoing some highly anticipated improvements. Enhancements include site elevation, storm water management, 50 amp electrical service, water, and the addition of sewer service to many sites. Construction is anticipated to start after Labor Day, 2019.

Reservations for this park will no longer be available after September 2, 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Once the improvements are completed, we will once again open up for reservations. While construction is taking place, we will have approximately 75 campsites that will be available on a walk-in, first-come first-serve basis.

We are looking forward to the opportunity of sharing these planned enhancements with our guests and improving our visitor experience at St. Andrews State Park. If you should need further information please feel free to contact the park at (850) 708-6100.
