A Message From The Director

Welcome to Florida State Parks, State Trails and Historic Sites

Welcome to the website for Florida’s state parks. This website will help you plan your visits to Florida’s 174 award-winning state parks, trails and historic sites.

February offers the best of Florida’s state parks. Along with the pleasant weather, you can experience a variety of special events at state parks – from living history reenactments and garden tours to live music and guided paddling trips. Enjoy nature and Florida’s famous sunshine is easy this month.

In February, we join with our partners at the Florida Trail Association to celebrate Hiking Trails Month.  Statewide, there are more than 7,000 miles of multi-use and hiking trails. If you prefer a strenuous hike, try the trail at Torreya State Park. The 16-mile trail mimics the inclines found in the mountains. If you’d like to walk beside a gentle river, try the hike along the Santa Fe at O’Leno State Park just north of Gainesville. Of course, the state designated trails offer paved hikes from the Florida Keys to the the Panhandle.

Many state parks offer Junior Ranger programs for that provide hands-on learning in a fun way. Children receive a Junior Ranger kit, complete CORE activities and earn certificates, stamps and opportunity to receive a Junior Ranger badge, patch or pin.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Also, be sure to download the PocketRanger® app for iPhones and Android smart phones.

See you at the park!
