A Message From The Director

Plan Your Outdoor Fun!

Welcome to the website for Florida’s state parks and state trails. This website will help you plan your visits to Florida’s 171 award-winning state parks and state trails.

Florida's state parks and state trails offer many opportunities for outdoor recreation and family fun. Check out the Junior Ranger program. Introduce a child to the joys of nature. They can discover fun outdoor activities at their own pace or join a ranger-led program.

Every year for Memorial Day weekend, I attend the Florida Folk Festival at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. This year the festival will be held May 22, 23 and 24 and will feature the best of Florida’s music, arts and culture. Tickets are on sale now at the Florida Folk Festival page. Admission for children ranges from free to $5.00 for the three day weekend, while adults can buy tickets in advance for $50.00 for the weekend.

Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed June as Great Outdoors Month. Explore northwest Florida using one of the itineraries developed by the Office of Greenways and Trails. These fun packages will help you discover fun activities and one-of-a-kind recreation, historic and cultural experiences within 15 miles of a Florida state park or state trail.

Additionally, plan now for a hike, paddle or ride on June 6. The American Hiking Society is spearheading a nationwide effort to celebrate trails for National Trails Day.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Also, be sure to download the PocketRanger® app for iPhones and Android smart phones.

See you at the park!
