A Message From The Director

Enjoy Florida’s State Parks!

Welcome to the website for Florida’s state parks and state trails. This website will help you plan your visits to Florida’s 174 award-winning state parks, state trails and historic sites.

Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed July as Recreation and Parks Month, serving as the perfect time for you to gather family and friends for recreational activities. From springs and beaches to trails and historic sites, Florida’s state parks offer recreational opportunities, including geocaching, hiking, tubing, swimming and more.

July is also Picnic Month and with more than 100 of Florida’s state parks and trails offering picnic facilities, gathering with food, family and friends is the perfect summer plan. In addition, the Florida Department of Health has partnered with Florida State Parks to offer recipes perfect for your picnic. Whether you’re camping near a campfire or grilling at a picnic pavilion, I know the recipes at Healthiest Weight Florida will be perfect for your family and friends.

Summertime always brings Florida’s famous sunshine and opportunities for outdoor fun. Please be safe. Always be cautious around water. Watch children carefully. Stay hydrated with plenty of fluids. Learn more about protecting your skin by visiting the Sun’s Up, Cover Up webpage.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Also, be sure to download the PocketRanger® app for iPhones and Android smart phones.

See you at the park!

Donald V. Forgione
