Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park
About Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park
A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER
Melba Nezbed
Spring is definitely the time for bird watching in the Florida Keys. Lately, we have seen black-whiskered vireos and indigo buntings at Windley Key. It’s also a great time to take a leisurely walk through our hardwood hammock. A couple of weeks ago, we had some 'Alternative Spring Breakers' from the University of Pennsylvania re-mulch our trails and they look great. They were a group of college students who wanted to give back something to the environment during their spring break from school. Many young hands make a big job go quickly. We thank you and we know park patrons will thank you also when they enjoy walking on the trails.
